Dear colleagues!

We invite You to one of the most considerable program of the 2008 year with dogs, to the official FCI European Dog Show, to Hungary, Budapest. It’s not the 1st time, that The Hungarian Kennel Club organises such a great event. In 1971, the MEOE organised the first World Dog Show as a part of the Hunting World Show, with the participation of 3800 dogs. That time 226 dogs have got the World Winner titles, with participation of Antonio Barone Forzano, president of the FCI and dr. Pál Sárkány, the president of MEOE.
In 1993 already as independent, the MEOE directed a Europe Dog Show, at Budapest, with the participation of nearly 7000 dogs, the BIS winner was a short hair Hungarian Vizsla. First time in 1996 two countries directed the World Dog Show: Austria and Hungary, in Vienna and in Budapest, the winner of the show was at Budapest 9th of July, 1996. The nearly 10.000 dogs’ most beautiful was an Afghan.
This year, we prepare for a bigger show. The Europe Dog Show will be a Crufts’ qualification show this year in Hungary. There has not been such a big show in Hungary yet. Beside of the dog show cat and pet shows will take place, too. The dogs will show up in various dog sport presentations, too. Beside the cynological programmes the most renowned Hungarian fashion designer directs a show in addition to the programs. We present the Hungarian specialities at the exhibition, the hungaricums, especially the best wines and the gastronomy. Beside the European Dog Show, all Hungarian dog breed clubs organize their Specialty Shows at the same weekend, with the participation of the best breed specialist judges. Those dogs, those get winner titles at the club show and Europe Dog Show too, will get the Hungarian Champion title.
If you manage to get time, let Budapest be looked at, the pearl of Danube. Budapest is the capital of Hungary with the population of 2 million. The city is full of cultural and gastronomic values. You can find the ruins of a Roman age city which can be seen in the town, the UNESCO World Heritage part, the Danube riverside, the middle age Buda Castle, the city is famous for his baths, the first ones derived from an age of Turkish, already. The country’s first stone-bridge can be found here from 1849, Budapest's most beautiful park is a whole island in the city's middle. Opera, theatres, concert halls, museums, cafes and restaurants are waiting the visitors of the city.
